What you need to know about JFK and Civil Rights!
The mainstream media never gives John F. Kennedy the credit he deserves on every issue but when they say he was "slow on civil rights" it really frustrates me. That statement is inaccurate and so is the product of bias or just awful journalism. After Abraham Lincoln to the time JFK took office, almost zero progress was made in the area of Civil Rights. The Day Kennedy was inaugurated he questioned his people why there was not more black people in the Coast Guard and in the Secret Service. He made civil rights an absolute priority of his administration.
I could list a million Civil rights accomplishments of Kennedy but here are just a few highlights:
1) He started lawsuits in the south to attack voting discrimination
2) He submitted an Executive Order to eliminate discrimination in the government
3) He sent in US Marshals to rescue the freedom riders in Alabama when they were attacked
4) He passed laws to integrate all travel facilities
5) He signed manpower development and training act to alleviate African-American unemployment
6) He sent US Marshals in to stop riots over James Meredith being admitted to Ole Miss University
7) He started a program for fair practices agreement which was signed by 116 unions to eliminate Discrimination in membership programs
8) He signed an Executive Order prohibiting discrimination in the sale and rental of housing
9) He stood up to Governor Wallace when he blocked entry of 3 African-American students into Alabama University
10) He sent the first ever Civil Rights act to Congress
These are just some of the many accomplishments in the civil rights area for John F. Kennedy. He also supported Martin Luther King Jr.'s March on Washington and became the first white politician to do so publicly. He even had his brother Robert supervise it, so it went smoothly. His television speech on Civil Rights was absolutely incredible and even MLK said "he knocked it out of the park". No matter how hard the mainstream media tries to hide JFK's success, it is always so clear what his agenda was and what he accomplished. When one examines the evidence without bias it is easy to conclude that John F. Kennedy is one of our greatest Presidents and greatest leaders. Wow does humanity need a John F. Kennedy today.
